We currently have a challenging and key opportunity for an Income officer to join our team in Christchurch on either a part time or full time basis. This role is to deliver a comprehensive rent collection service across the region. You’ll carry out a range of tasks including negotiating payment arrangements with tenants, providing basic welfare benefit and money advice and prepare statements and applications for court. You’ll also attend court and visit tenants in their home. To be successful in this role you‘ll need experience in income management or debt recovery/collection (preferably in a social housing environment), excellent customer service skills and a working knowledge of welfare benefits. You’ll be a self-starter with a proactive approach and possess the ability to work without close supervision. Effective decision making skills, diplomatic and confidential, as well as having the ability to prioritise a busy workload are also key requirements of this position. As you’ll need to travel in this role, having a car and full driving licence is essential. Working pattern for part time applicants can be discussed at interview.
