Trainee Laboratory and Site Monitoring Technicians Fugro is the world's leading independent provider of geo-intelligence and asset integrity solutions. Specifically the role is part of the Site Characterisation department which works offshore and on land providing engineering, geotechnical and geoenvironmental services for clients in the energy, infrastructure and mining sectors worldwide. We provide the technical data and information required to design, construct and maintain structures and infrastructure in a safe, reliable and efficient manner. We are looking for a confident and proactive individual to join our Laboratory Team - primarily, this is based in Consett, County Durham but this role also visits our project sites on a regular basis. The key responsibilities of this role are laboratory or site testing of soil and rock and calculation and reporting of test results; site monitoring, testing and sampling of groundwater, soils and gases. Our sites could be land based or on over-water drilling vessels, you will work with the site engineers to ensure all testing and monitoring is carried out to the specifications of the project, assist with the photography of samples and cores and consumable levels are appropriately maintained. You will carry out purging and commissioning of monitoring wells and monitoring of instruments which record the movement of structures and buildings. You will also be responsible for checking and calibrating all test equipment, ensuring that the laboratory and stores are kept in a clean and tidy condition. Previous experience in any of these areas would be preferable, but is not essential as full training will be provided. We are looking for efficient and dedicated individuals who have an interest in one or more of the day to day activities carried out by our Company.
